Position Description

Performs supervisory and coordinative work in the operation of a specific program or departmental project. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and student assistants.

This position is focused on attracting and recruiting potential students into the Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Commerce (BSPHC) program, with the Julia Jones Matthews School of Population and Public Health (JJMSPPH).

Major/Essential Functions

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all potential program applicants, bringing students into the BSPHC pipeline and supporting the growth and success of the program.
  • Develop effective recruitment strategies, implementing short- and long-term recruitment plans. This will include traveling to high schools, community college job fairs, community events, and collaborating with external organizations to promote the BSPHC program.
  • Develop virtual recruitment activities and web-based recruitment information that appeal to a broad base of potential applicants.
  • Cultivate relationships with prospective students and their parents, as well as high school and college advisors.
  • Maintain accurate records in the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system to track student interactions and monitor the application process.
  • Advise and coach all prospective students regarding the application process, financial aid opportunities, and other institutional benefits.
  • Work with prospective students to provide a smooth transition throughout the application submission process.
  • Develop and maintain data-based metrics to measure the effectiveness of recruitment efforts.
  • Collaborate weekly with JJMSPPH Student Services staff to coordinate student recruitment, admissions, and address enrollment issues.
  • Partner with the JJMSPPH team to maintain an active and engaging social media presence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 4 years of experience in higher education recruitment.
  • Experience with student and/or client recruitment
  • Experienced in building and implementing successful recruitment plans.
Pay Statement

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website at

Occasional Duties
  • Work with the JJMSPPH team to develop and implement on- and off-campus student events.
  • Work with JJMSPPH Office of the Dean to develop and host tours and events to showcase the BSPHC program.

Required Qualifications

High school graduation plus five (5) years progressively responsible related experience; additional related education may exchange for required experience on a year for year basis.

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
