Description:

Job DescriptionMedical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) – supports plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable results. The role follows industry regulations and provides center‑level environmental, health and safety support.How You Will ContributeDetermine donor eligibility, including informed consent management, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs, follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, and assist with donor transport to emergency care facilities.Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility concerns.Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER, following EHS guidance.Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community.What You BringHigh‑school diploma or recognized nursing program graduate with state requirements.State licensing or certification as an EMT‑Paramedic.Current CPR and AED certification.Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.Compensation and BenefitsHourly wage range: $23.04 – $31.68 (based on qualifications, experience, education, certifications, and location).U.S. employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time, and up to 120 hours of paid vacation.LocationUSA – TX – AbileneEEO StatementTakeda is proud of its commitment to creating a diverse workforce and providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, parental status, national origin, age, disability, citizenship status, genetic information, marital status, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.#J-18808-Ljbffr
