The Cashier/Payment Poster is responsible for the manual posting of insurance and personal payments to medical claims. Reconcile posting batches to the bank deposits daily, processing insurance virtual credit card payments, image scanning explanation of benefits, researching and resolving unpostables, retrieving explanation of benefits from insurance websites to post to patient claims, and other duties as directed by the Business Office Manager
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum Work Experience
1-2 year's experience of medical payment posting
Required Licenses/Certifications
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement policies
Knowledge of account receivable practices
Knowledge of payment posting
Skill in planning, organizing, and delegating
Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures
Skill in problem solving
Skill in verbal and written communication
Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies and procedures
Ability to set priorities among multiple requests
Ability to interact with billing staff
