Overview

Position Title and Summary: Technical Investigations Manager, Global Physical Security - Risk and Investigations

Position Location: Abilene

Base pay range: $140,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

  • Conducts and/or oversees all technical investigations, TSCM sweeps, and surveys within the datacenter portfolio
  • Maintains technical investigations files, reports, notes and databases, and uses analytical tools to monitor and track trends
  • Manage the global in place monitoring system within the remit of global physical security
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, programs and processes in collaboration with key stakeholders and GPS colleagues
  • Act as a mentor and advisor to colleagues on all technical investigative matters, methods and best practices
  • Aid the Sr. Director of Risk and Investigations in technical investigative case management
  • Coordinate with partners, peers, colleagues and others at the direction of the Director of Technical Investigations
  • Liaise with external industry resources, federal, state and local agencies and professionals as needed
  • Consult with the Sr. Director of Risk and Investigations of GPS on the budget

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in government service, industrial security, law enforcement or related field
  • Strong understanding of industry-specific legislation and compliance requirements related to the TSCM field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in conducting technical investigations, surveys, and TSCM sweeps; knowledge of methods used by hostile actors, competitors, and nation states
  • Understanding of the electromagnetic spectrum and RF interrelationships as they relate to electronic, electromechanical and computer systems
  • Hands-on experience with electronic instrumentation (multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, SPL meters, time-domain reflectometers, network analyzers) used to test, certify, and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, electromechanical and computer systems
  • Knowledge and hands-on familiarity with computer systems, network security, operating systems, hardware platforms, and wired/wireless networks
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and electromechanical schematics and architectural drawings, including building systems and network topologies
  • Basic or greater understanding of TSCM equipment
  • Basic or greater understanding of report writing
  • Basic or greater understanding or experience in testifying in court or legal depositions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Practical experience identifying TEMPEST emanations and implementing countermeasures
  • Practical experience in direction finding and radio signal triangulation
  • Practical experience managing an in-place monitoring system or wireless intrusion detection system
  • Advanced understanding of common commercial communication protocols: Wifi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, XBee, ANT, PTT Radio, and cellular technologies (3G/4G/5G)
  • Advanced understanding of rogue access points, Bluetooth exploits, man-in-the-middle attacks, and cellular threats

Scope of Responsibility and Supervision

  • The role is global in nature but focused and based in a single location
  • Decisions have high impact and the degree of supervision is minimal
  • This is an IC level Manager with a moderate degree of responsibility and strategic impact on the business function
  • This position will report directly to the Director of Technical Investigation for GPS

Process and Methodology

  • This position will develop strategy, lead collaborative teams and resources to successfully perform
  • Analyze business needs and identify the programs and services required to meet those needs
  • The position will provide education and professional development guidance to directors, managers, clients and other resources as required

Additional Information

  • May include travel globally dependent on business needs
  • Requires positive partnership skills, effective communications, and positive relations in business capabilities
  • Performs a full range of strategic business planning objectives, tactical processes, procedures and business analytics

Education and Experience

  • BA or BS degree is desired but not required
  • TSCM Fundamentals Certification by the Interagency Training Center (ITC) is preferred
  • Industry certifications are preferable but not required (e.g. Network+, Security+, CASP, PenTest)
  • PDTG Technical Security Specialist (TSS) Certification and/or Kestrel Operator Certification is desired but not required
  • Practical experience with Bastille Wireless Intrusion Detection System
  • Certified TEMPEST Engineer, or prior experience as a Certified TEMEPEST Technical Authority (CTTA) a bonus
