Principal Logistics Management Analyst – Northrop Grumman, Abilene, Texas, Defense Systems Sector

Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Logistics Management Analyst to join our Command and Control & Weapons Integration team, providing on-site support for B-1B Offensive Radar systems at Dyess Air Force Base. The role involves engineering, reverse engineering, logistics solution efforts to solve obsolescence problems and sustain warfighter supportability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, on-site technical support for the B-1B Offensive Radar System (ORS).
  • Assist technicians with troubleshooting, fault isolation, and corrective maintenance recommendations.
  • Support Air Force maintainers with training, mentoring, and hands-on technical guidance.
  • Contribute to data reliability by reviewing maintenance documentation and ensuring accuracy for performance metrics.
  • Act as a customer liaison to communicate system issues and coordinate with depot and engineering teams.
  • Develop, coordinate and conduct reliability, maintainability and availability studies and evaluations throughout program life cycle.
  • Analyze aircraft maintenance programs to determine effectiveness and create written recommendations for increasing efficiency.
  • Apply principles, concepts, practices, and standard airframes.
  • Research BOMs, engineering parts lists and IPBs to develop a comprehensive database.
  • Identify and document critical obsolescence data elements for LRUs, SRUs and piece-parts.
  • Canvas manufacturers and vendors for obsolescence information; maintain open communication.
  • Assess overall health of systems, providing detailed assessments of items impacting systems negatively.
  • Perform trade-study analysis for obsolescence resolutions including cost-benefits, lifetime buy benefits, technical data modification effort, system impact, non-recurring engineering effort and complexity factor.
  • Identify and define resolution recommendations; grade resolutions based on cost-benefit, mission impact and sustainability for life of system.
  • Provide preferred resolutions that are thoroughly researched and give the customer a clear path and a direct comparison to less favorable resolutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 5 years' experience, OR Master's degree in STEM discipline with a minimum of 3 years of experience, OR an additional 9 years of direct relevant experience in lieu of the degree requirement.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) secret security clearance.
  • Access to work on-site at Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX.
  • Excellent communication skills – work with multiple departments to solve problems.
  • Basic knowledge of JEDMICS, A-TEAM, BLADE, ESCAPE, AVCOM, LDMS, TOAP, WebFLIS, and FEDMALL.
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawings, BOMs and maintenance parts lists.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Logistics experience solving DMSMS issues and providing suitable resolutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (or higher).
  • Knowledge of B-1 maintenance/sustainment activity.
  • Knowledge of Military Specifications, Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), Data Item Descriptions (DIDs) and related technical and contractual documents.
  • Significant experience in military, government, commercial aerospace industry (e.g., aviation/equipment maintenance, aircraft operations, or commercial industrial technology companies).
  • Experience with reading and understanding technical data (e.g., Technical Orders, Engineering Drawings, Parts Lists, Bills of Material, Engineering Specifications, etc.).
  • A working understanding of government aircraft maintenance and supply processes/systems.
  • Extensive experience mining, sorting, and filtering data from government supply chain legacy systems (e.g., D035, Stock Control System; D043, Air Force Interchangeability and Substitution System; D200, Requirements Management System; Purchase request processing system; Contract Repair Management System; and Logistics Installations and Mission Support – Enterprise View (LIMS-EV) suite).
  • Extensive experience, working knowledge of Depot Supply Chain Management processes, Automated Budget Compilation System (ABCS), management of end item buy and repair requirements, knowledge/experience with shop-process, workflow, and quality assurance requirements related to US Air Force/military supply system processes and procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft products.

Salary and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,400.00 – $113,000.00.
Benefits include health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays, paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business, and potential eligibility for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and long-term incentive compensation.
